MUSHROOMS
Mushrooms are a versatile and popular ingredient in the kitchen, renowned for their unique flavour and succulent texture. They offer a wide range of flavours, ranging from the earthy and slightly hazelnut-like porcini mushrooms, to delicate and slightly citrusy button mushrooms. Some types, such as maitake and shiitake, have a more robust and rich flavour, while others such as jelly ear mushrooms offer a crunchy texture and subtle vegetable notes.
Thanks to their versatility, mushrooms can be cooked in a variety of ways. They can be sautéed with garlic and parsley, added to soups and risottos to enrich the flavour, or used as the main ingredient in dishes such as pasta with mushrooms or omelettes. Mushrooms can also be marinated or pickled in oil to intensify their flavour. Additionally, mushrooms pair well with a variety of ingredients, such as herbs, cheeses, garlic, olive oil, and white wine. They are also an excellent source of plant protein and contain important nutrients such as B vitamins and minerals.
